SS-01: Road Trip- Advocacy for Students at the School Site Level

The Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) is the most comprehensive reform to California school finance in the past 40 years. This workshop will discuss how the LCFF empowers school psychologists to advocate for high-need students. The primary objective of this workshop is to provide participants with ideas for advocating for high-need students at the site level.

Tom Sopp is President of the California Association of School Psychologists (CASP) and has been a school psychologist for 16 years and is currently a practicing school psychologist with the Long Beach Unified School District. Serving on CASP board positions and committees for the past seven years, he has experience advocating for students and school psychologist at the school site-level, state level and federal level.
