P-01: Laying the Foundation for a Trauma-Informed Approach
10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m.

Providing trauma-informed care to children who have been exposed to trauma is critical in improving academic, behavioral, and mental health outcomes. This paper presentation will help school psychologists lay the foundation for a trauma-informed approach by introducing several prevention and intervention strategies across a multi-tiered system of supports, including the basis for each strategy, a review of existing evidence-based research, suggestions for meeting the needs of traumatized students in schools, and practice and research implications.
