M-14: Improving School Climate for All Students, Positively and Restoratively

This presentation will explore prevention-focused school climate efforts that have been successful alternatives to harsh exclusionary discipline, such as suspensions and expulsions. Presenters will discuss how features of Restorative Justice, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports, and Trauma Sensitive Strategies have shown tremendous improvement in school climate in schools and districts across California. This workshop will allow participants to identify issues and obstacles and devise concrete action plans for using their roles to improve school climate in their schools and districts.
