M-11: Real World Effectiveness: Promoting Student Success through an Inclusive Consultative Framework
3:00 p.m. – 4:20 p.m.
The objectives of this mini-skills workshop are to: (1) review the consultation literature on diverse populations, (2) describe a collaborative consultation process with an elementary school in an urban school district in southern California, and (3) explore the implications of implementing a real-world collaborative consultation process with a high-needs school. This mini-skills workshop will add to the current consultation literature by targeting supports for schools with limited resources, extending the current practice of individual consultation, and increasing school psychologists’ role in school-wide system changes. This presentation addresses NASP’s Consultation and Collaboration Domain and CASP’s strand of Equity in Schools.
