W-14: Special Education Mental Health Issues

This workshop will cover special education mental health issues through an examination of recent cases from the Office of Administrative Hearings, Special Education Division (“OAH”), with a focus on: Assessment; Need for and Provision of Mental Health Services; Residential Treatment Centers (“RTCs”); Home and Hospital Instruction; “Wilderness” Programs; and Other Agency Support and Involvement.
Carl D. Corbin of School and College Legal Services of California graduated from Gallaudet University with a Psy.S. in school psychology, worked over five years in public school districts as a school psychologist, is a LEP (inactive) and NCSP, and obtained his law degree at University of California, Boalt Hall.
