P-22: What do teachers think about social emotional learning?
11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m.
The implementation of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) programs within our school system have seen a rise. The effects of these programs in helping students improve their social-emotional competence have been validated by various studies. Even though research has shown the benefits of implementing these SEL programs, it appears that there is some apprehension from teachers to implement social emotional programs within their classrooms. This presentation will give school psychologist some insight to teachers’ thoughts about SEL programs. By understanding teachers’ perceptions, school psychologists will be able to determine how to better support teachers.
