P-21: Parental Education of the MTSS Process-Resources to Help Guide the Initial Conversation
3:00 p.m. – 3:50 p.m.

Similar to many states, California is moving aggressively to promote MTSS for district adoption with a Statewide Initiative. An MTSS framework can ensure all students have access to the curriculum and empower them to achieve high standards. However, many parents lack education about MTSS, and therefore, cannot be active participants. This presentation aims to provide school psychologists with an understanding of how to educate parents about the MTSS process, specifically how the MTSS process ensures equity and ways parents can support student learning. Furthermore, school psychologists will receive a sample PowerPoint and infographics for use with their own parent population.
