The objective of the workshop is to help provide information to familiarize those who work in school systems and community based settings about the nature of epilepsy in children and adolescents, the educational outcomes and planning, evidence based prevention and interventions programs at the various tier levels, the school psychologist’s roles in the prevention and intervention process, and implications for school psychology training programs.

Jeannine Topalian has been a school psychologist for Los Angeles Unified School District for the past 16 years. She is currently an administrator in Psychological Services in LAUSD and Adjunct Faculty at Alliant International University, Los Angeles. Dr. Topalian has extensive knowledge of and experience in working with culturally diverse youth. She works with the principal, school and support staff, parents, students, and community agencies to implement school-wide instructional, mental health services, and crisis and behavioral prevention and intervention programs.
