A reading fluency with vocabulary previewing intervention was implemented for a fourth grade English language learner (ELL). The student was reading at a second-grade reading level as determined by his DIBELSĀ® Oral Reading Fluency scores. The intervention consisted of having the student review vocabulary words, read a DIBELS passage, receive corrective feedback, and reread the same DIBELS passage. Reading fluency was measured by correct words read per minute (CWPM) using DIBELS passages. Attendees will gather information about a reading fluency intervention with vocabulary previewing for ELL students.
