Health Psychology is the study of understanding how psychology and behavior affect and contribute to our physical health. While direct experiences with self-care practices are important to understanding why self-care is important, this presentation gives school psychologists the research to help supplement that knowledge and to understand the meaningful effects self-care practices have on both our physical and mental well-being. Topics included will be: mindfulness, meditation, gratitude practices, self-compassion, exercise, sleep, and social relationships. Simple and effective strategies for incorporating self-care will be reviewed and will allow attendees to start implementing and practicing immediately.
