Navigating through the early phase as a school psychologist practitioner can be daunting and stress inducing. By learning the various ways to cultivate your knowledge and skills as a school psychologist, one can overcome various obstacles during the first few years as a school psychologist. Establishing yourself as a school psychologist, will require an understanding of four major roles, assessor, consultant, counselor, and intervention/prevention specialist. Participants will be provided with a variety of strategies to, “fit in,” “make connections, “build credibility and confidence, and “time management.” Participants will be provided with a list of resources and recommendations that can help them navigate successfully during their early practitioner phase as a school psychologist practitioner.
