This paper presentation will address the importance of Restorative Justice in schools, focusing specifically on the utility of Restorative Circles in decreasing suspensions through community building. Emphasis is placed on repairing harm done to relationships and people over and above the need for assigning blame and dispensing punishment. In addition, it will address the core principles of Restorative Justice, as well a multi-tiered model for implementing Restorative Circles in schools.
