This talk will explore the social and emotional health of our school-aged children in the context of the academic demands they face at each stage of development. Current research, along with best practice and informed policy making, will be highlighted. The workshop will also give overviews on current research on the topic; the social and emotional needs of children in the schools; and practical strategies and directions for balance of children’s academic and physical, emotional and relational health needs.
